Ensure every email address in your CRM has a clear purpose. By customizing email labels in Smackdab, you can easily distinguish between a "Support" address and a "Billing" contact, helping your team communicate more effectively.

This guide will show you how to add, edit, and delete email types to perfectly match your business workflow.

Getting to Your Email Types Settings

First, let's navigate to the right spot in your Smackdab account.

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Under Administration, choose Platform Settings.

  3. Select Email Types.

Here, you'll find the Email Type list, which comes with six default options ready to use: Main, Personal, Business, Commercial, Promotional, and Other.

How to Add a New Email Type

Need to add a new, specific label? It's a snap.

  1. From the top-right of the Email Type list, click the "New Email Type" button.

  2. In the window that pops up, type in the name for your new email label.

  3. Click Save, and your new email type will be immediately available for your team to use!

How to Edit or Delete a Custom Email Type

You have full control over any of the custom email types you've created.

  • To edit or delete a single type: Find the custom email type in the list and click the three-dots icon (...) next to it. A menu will appear with options to Edit or Delete it.

  • To delete multiple types at once: Hover your mouse over the custom email types you want to remove, and a checkbox will appear. Select all the types you wish to delete, and then click the main Delete button that appears at the top of the list.
