Navigate with Confidence: Manage Your Discard Prompt in Smackdab!
The Discard Prompt setting in Smackdab gives you control over confirmation alerts that pop up when you try to leave a page with unsaved changes. These prompts are a fantastic safeguard, helping to prevent you from accidentally losing valuable data in forms or custom views by reminding you to save your work before moving on.
This setting is particularly helpful if you frequently update records or configure views, as it provides an extra layer of protection against losing important changes due to unintended clicks.
How to Manage Your Discard Prompt
Configuring your personal discard prompt preferences is simple:
Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
Click on Personal, then go to Personal Settings.
-
In the Personal Settings section, find the Discard Prompt area.
-
Use the toggles to enable or disable prompts specifically for forms and custom views.
Description of This Setting
These settings are unique to your user account and will override any discard prompt settings that might be applied at the branch level. You have control over these two key options:
Form Discard Prompt: Enable this toggle if you want to receive a confirmation prompt when you try to navigate away from a form that has unsaved changes.
Custom View Discard Prompt: Enable this toggle to get a prompt when you are exiting a custom view after making unsaved edits.
Overriding Branch Settings
Even if your branch has enabled discard prompts by default, you still have the option to turn them off just for your personal use:
Disabling the toggle in your Personal Settings will override the branch-level setting for your account only.
This empowers you to customize your experience based on your personal workflow preferences without affecting how other users in your branch experience Smackdab.
Whether you prefer confirmation prompts to help avoid accidental data loss or a faster, uninterrupted navigation experience, Smackdab's discard prompt settings offer the flexibility to choose what works best for you.
