Launch Your SMS Campaigns: Your Guide to Setting Up a Marketing Line
Ready to connect with your customers on a whole new level? This guide will walk you through setting up your dedicated marketing line in Smackdab, unlocking the power of SMS text broadcasts. We'll take you step-by-step through the one-time setup process to get your brand registered and ready to text.

Getting to the Setup Screen
From the main menu in Smackdab, click on Marketing Line.
If this is your first time, you'll land on the Check Campaign Status screen.
Click the Check Campaign Status button to dive into the setup process.
Step 1: Create Your Business Profile
First, we need to tell our carrier partners a bit about your business. This ensures compliance and smooth message delivery. You’ll be prompted to fill out a customer profile with the following details.
Business Details
This section covers the official details of your company.
Legal Business Name
Social Media Profile URL
Business Type (e.g., Corporation, LLC, Non-Profit)
ISO Country Code (e.g., United States - US)
Business Registration ID Type (e.g., EIN, CBN)
Business Registration Number
Business Regions of Operation
Company Type (e.g., Private, Public)
Business Industry
Website URL
Business Address
Enter the primary physical address for your business.
Name
Street Address & Secondary Street Address
Country, State, and City
Postal/Zip Code
Region (Northeast, Southeast, etc.)
Contact Information
Provide the details for the main point of contact for this marketing line.
First & Last Name
Email & Phone Number
Business Title & Job Position
Once you've filled everything out, you'll see a summary. Give it a quick review to ensure everything is perfect. If you spot something that needs changing, just hop back to that section to update it.
All good? Click Save & Continue to move to the next step!
Step 2: Register Your Brand
Next, you'll officially register your brand for A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging. This is a crucial step for industry compliance.
Submit Brand: Choose the brand type that best fits your business.
Review: You'll see a summary of your A2P messaging limits and other details. If it all looks correct, click Save & Continue.
Step 3: Build Your SMS Campaign
Now for the fun part! Let's define how your campaign will work.
Campaign Details
Available A2P Campaign Use Cases: Select the option that best describes how you'll use SMS (e.g., Marketing, Notifications).
End-User Consent Method: Clearly describe how your customers give you permission to text them.
Campaign Description: Briefly explain the purpose of your campaigns.
Consent Message: Write the first message a user receives that confirms their consent.
Message Includes Embedded Link/Phone Number?: Check these boxes if your messages will typically contain links or phone numbers.
Sample Messages
Provide up to five examples of the messages you plan to send. This helps carriers understand your content.
Opt-In / Opt-Out & Help Messages
This is where you'll write the automatic messages for key commands.

Opt-In:
Keywords: The words users text to subscribe (e.g., START, JOIN).
Message: The reply they get. Must include: your brand name, confirmation of enrollment, instructions for getting help, and opt-out details.

Opt-Out:
Keywords: The words users text to unsubscribe (e.g., STOP, END).
Message: The confirmation they receive. Must include: your brand name, confirmation of unsubscription, and support contact info.

Help:
Keywords: The word users text for assistance (e.g., HELP).
Message: The helpful reply they get. Must include: your brand name and support contact information.
Opt-In Image URL: You can add a URL for an image to be included in your opt-in message.
After completing this section, you'll get one more chance to review all your campaign details. Once you're satisfied, click Save & Continue.
Step 4: Purchase Your Dedicated Phone Number
You're almost there! The final step is to choose your new phone number.
Buy a Number: You can search for a number by area code or keywords, or simply choose one from the available list.
Submit: Once you've found the perfect number, click Submit for Review, then Save & Continue.
Your information will now be submitted for verification. Once approved, you'll be redirected to the Conversation screen.
