A deal pipeline in Smackdab.ai helps you track every step of your sales process, from the first contact to a closed deal. It ensures your sales team stays organized, focuses on high-potential opportunities, and never misses a lead.
Understanding Deal Pipeline Stages
Each deal moves through different stages in the pipeline, giving you a clear picture of where it stands.
Here’s how Smackdab structures these stages:
What is a Deal Pipeline Stage Name?
A stage name in your deal pipeline is simply a label for each step in the sales process. It helps your team instantly know where a deal stands and what needs to happen next.
What is a Deal Pipeline Stage Type?
A stage type is a category that defines a stage’s role in the sales cycle, like Open, Won, or Lost. It helps organize deals for better reporting and automation.
For example:
🔹 Stage Name: "Proposal Sent" → Stage Type: "Open"
🔹 Stage Name: "Closed Won" → Stage Type: "Won"
What is Deal Rot?
Deal Rot Days refer to how long a deal stays inactive in a stage before it’s considered stagnant.
🔹 Why It Matters: If a deal starts "rotting," it could mean the prospect is losing interest. This is a signal to follow up, re-engage, or reassess the deal's status.
What is the Probability of Each Stage?
Each stage in the pipeline has an associated probability—the likelihood of successfully closing the deal based on historical trends.
🔹 Purpose: Helps with forecasting and prioritizing deals.
🔹 Examples:
Lead Qualification: 20% chance of closing
Proposal Sent: 50% chance of closing
Negotiation: 70% chance of closing
