Customize Your Contact Info: How to Manage Phone Types
Keep your contact information perfectly organized by customizing the phone number labels used in Smackdab. While we provide a set of standard labels, you can easily add your own to match your business needs—whether it's a "Direct Line," "Warehouse," or "Support Desk."
This guide will walk you through adding, editing, and deleting phone types so your data is always clear and consistent.
Getting to Your Phone Types Settings
First, let's head over to the right spot in your Smackdab account.
Navigate to Settings.
Under Administration, choose Platform Settings.
Select Phone Types.
Here, you'll see the Phone Type list, which includes six default options ready for you to use: Mobile, Office, Main, Fax, Home, and Other.
How to Add a New Phone Type
Need a new label? Creating one is quick and easy.
At the top-right of the Phone Type list, click the "New Phone Type" button.
In the window that pops up, type in the name for your new phone label.
Click Save, and your new phone type will instantly appear in the list, ready to be used!
How to Edit or Delete a Custom Phone Type
You can easily manage any of the custom phone types you've created.
To edit or delete a single type: Find the custom phone type in the list and click the three-dots icon (...) next to it. A menu will appear with options to Edit or Delete it.
To delete multiple types at once: Hover your mouse over the custom phone types you want to remove. A checkbox will appear. Select all the types you wish to delete, and then click the main Delete button that appears at the top of the list.
