Keeping Your Streams Fresh: How to Update and Delete Them!
Smackdab's Streams feature is designed to be highly adaptable, allowing you to keep your consolidated logs perfectly organized. You have the power to update stream names to ensure they always reflect your current needs, and you can easily remove streams that are no longer essential.
Updating a Stream: Keeping Your Labels Clear!
You can effortlessly rename your streams to maintain clarity and organization. It's important to remember that while you can always change a stream's name, the associated users cannot be modified once the stream is created.
Here's how to give your stream a fresh new name:
-
Head to the Stream Module: From your main menu, simply navigate to the Stream section on the left side.
-
You'll notice the "Default Stream" here, which provides a comprehensive view of all user logs across your organization.
-
-
Access Stream Options: Locate the specific stream you wish to rename. Right next to its name, you'll see a horizontal three-dot menu (⋯). Give it a click!
Edit the Stream Name: From the dropdown menu that appears, select "Edit." A friendly pop-up window will then invite you to enter the new name for your stream. Once you've typed in the perfect new name, click "Save" to confirm your changes. Voila! Your stream now has its updated label.
Real-Time Updates: Stay in the Loop!
Within your stream, you'll also find a handy toggle to manage real-time updates:
Enabled: When this option is active, your stream will magically display new activity logs as they happen, without you needing to lift a finger! This keeps you constantly informed.
Disabled: If you prefer a more manual approach, you'll simply need to refresh the screen to see the latest updates.
Pro Tip: If you ever need to change the users or filters associated with a stream, the best approach is to create a brand new stream with your desired configuration. This ensures your log tracking is always precisely tailored to your needs!
This feature is truly designed to help you keep your activity streams clearly labeled and perfectly aligned with your unique workflows.
Deleting a Stream: Clearing Out What's No Longer Needed!
When a stream has served its purpose and is no longer required, you can easily remove it to keep your workspace tidy.
Here's how to gracefully delete a stream:
Head to the Stream Module: Just like when updating, start by navigating to the Stream section from your main menu.
-
Access Stream Options: Find the stream you wish to delete and click on the horizontal three-dot menu (⋯) located next to its name.
Delete the Stream: From the dropdown options, select "Delete." To ensure you don't accidentally remove something important, a confirmation pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm your decision. Once you confirm, please be aware that the stream will be permanently deleted from the system and cannot be recovered.
